I contemplated jumping off a cliff last night as I found my first paint chip on the hood of my 2019 GT1.

I have just gotten into property auto body detailing buying an orbital buffer package from the Chemical Guys. Having used it once, the results are amazing.

Question: am I out of my league on this pint chip? Never tried repairing them in the past. Looking for some pointers or recommendations from someone else that has tried.

Don't feel bad man, the paint on the Stinger is awful compared to other brands I've owned. Depending on where it's at you can try touching it up and installing a clear paint protection film over it.

I am just like you hoserama, I'm a rock magnet when I drive on the freeways. I've had rocks fly over from the other side of the freeway an hit my windshield or the front of my car. I have driven my Stinger on the freeway once, and I'm not going to do it again until I have the entire front of my car wrapped, hood, fenders, front bumper and the headlights.

This is mine mid wrap. Looked amazing from a distance. Horrible job from a local place, I had razor marks everywhere when I removed it. So many more colors in the light. It's too bad the company took on a job they lacked the skill for.

That's a tragedy considering it looked great. Are they paying for the razor repairs?

It definitely sounds like they didn't know what they were do, for sure I would make them pay for the razor damage.

They refunded the full wrap cost and I traded the car. I was frustrated beyond belief. I traded it for a Tundra and HATED the truck after driving the stinger. I just got rid of the truck and picked up a 2019 Stinger. Apparently I should have read reviews on the company I chose for financing. Kia Motor Financing is a nightmare to deal with.

What problems are you having with KMF? Maybe I can help.

Really, what kind of problems are you having with Kia Motor Financing, this is my fourth car I've Financed through Kia and I have never had a problem an two of them were leases.

I checked into the company extensively AFTER I got financed and there is a ludicrous amount of reviews about peoples credit being hit for money owed when it wasn't and KMF never contacting these people about it, being charged for damages at EOL after they return the car when there was none, cars being paid off and months later the owners still don't have their title. KMF is telling them they didn't get the odometer disclosure or it was invalid when they did get it and it was valid. Calls never being returned, being told the only way to contact the title department is via email and just horror story after horror story from consumers and dealers alike. This makes me nervous as hell and I feel like I need to refinance as fast as I possibly can. Almost forgot, also other people who sent the odo disclosure with their payoff amount and KMF lying and saying it wasn't received even when the check has been cashed by them. Then they change it to the form wasn't received with it. It's just a nightmare that I don't want to deal with and these problems go from 2017-present. Probably further back but I stopped reading after 100+ bad reviews........they have a 1 out of 5 star rating....

Hahahahahaha

Well, I've never had a problem and I've used them many times over the years.

In fact, I leased my Stinger. Filled out the odometer statement and had it sent in with the check to get it refinanced. Never an issue.

In my experience, it usually stems from people not following the rules or listening completely. *shrugs*

I might believe it was their fault if it wasn't a recurring complaint from so many people and on another note I just noticed my local dealer snuck a service contract and GAP insurance into my damn sales contract. That's what I get for not reading every damn detail which i'm sure they planned with the 5 hours they had me waiting in that place. smh....

Damn I would be so upset. Glad you're back in the Stinger.

In my experience the majority of consumer complaints stem from lack of education. Caveat Emptor (buyer Beware)! As consumers, it is our responsibility to read, research, and understand what we are signing. If we are unsure about what we are being asked to sign then we should complete additional research and/or consult legal counsel. And if a dealer tried to hold me in a room for 5 hours to purchase a car I would have left 4.5 hours into their 5 hour goal. When I bought my Stinger I requested price quotes from 3 dealers, selected my dealer, and wired funds prior to picking up the car. I was at the dealer for less than 30 minutes. Now it may be that I have purchased over 20 vehicles from this dealership group. But the complaints about KMF are similar to the majority of complaints other finance groups have received. The common denominator with all of the complaints received by the many finance groups is the consumer. Just my 2 cents. Sorry you have had a hard time. Best of luck!

Ever heard about clear bra aka paint protection film?
I had an i06 nfiniti g35 coupe. Just happened to have a clear bra installed. Didn't even realize it till after the purchase. Here is the thing after the car was 7 or 8 years old my neighbor backed into it. then she wanted to pay rather than run it through insurance. It didn't look like much. If there wasn't a clear bra it probably would have been a few scratches but it looked really bad because the plastic clear bra was scuffed. Turned into a big repair because they couldn't get the damaged clear bra off. You know how glue gets when it's old. They had to get a specialist and they did damage the paint a little bit getting it off.

I wouldn't get a clear bra again
