Recently pored through the settings in Spotify and found that you can vary the quality of what you download (I've decided to pay for Premium or whatever it is, not sure the free version has any downloading at all). Gave some songs a try yesterday and really liked the higher quality audio!

Yeah it took me a while to find that out too, I now have it set to Extreme for both. At $10 a month its a bargain for the amount of songs in their library.

I figured that I couldn't tell the difference between Extreme and high (or whatever it's called) and am impressed enough so far. LOTS of room still on my 128GB phone, too.

Check in settings so you can hear the high quality versions! If you have space on your phone, download your favorite songs/albums!

I made the switch from Spotify to Pandora. Got tired of my music playlist getting smaller because Spotify lost some of the music license.
